The BioD-SuperLog and BioD-SuperRoll are two of our newly improved coir logs with invisible planting holes for installation and to plant through the log.
The BioD-SuperLog 12 is a rectangular coir log with a cross section of 12 in. by 10 in. with pre-formed holes for planting and anchoring. They are made from cleaned mattress coir fiber packed into a 12in. by 10in. square log. It is then covered with an outer netting with opening size of 2 in. by 2in. There are two sets of pre-formed holes and these holes are covered with coir fiber plugs. Lastly there is also a pouch from the netting at the end of the Log to facilitate a sound connection between 2 logs.
The BioD-SuperLog is good for stream bank restorations and slope stabilizations. The square shaped cross section provides better contact area at the bottom. The fiber plugs are useful for vertical or horizontal planting, while the log can be used also as a solid log if you do not remove the coir plugs.
RoLanka’s BioD-SuperRoll 12 is also made from cleaned mattress coir fiber uniformly packed into a 12 in. diameter roll with a length of 10 ft. it is then covered with an outer netting, like the BioD-SuperLog, with an opening size of 2 in. The BioD-SuperRoll has two sets of pre-formed planting holes in each roll. Like the BioD-SuperLog, there is also a pouch from the netting at the end of the roll to facilitate a sound connection between 2 rolls.
The BioD-SuperRoll is excellent for soil bioengineering, as well as streambank restoration, slope stabilization, and vegetated soil-lifts. The pre-formed holes are great for anchoring and planting, and this Roll can also be used as a solid coir roll without removing the coir plugs.
They are similar when listing the applications and advantages. One similar thing about the BioD-Super Log and the BioD-Super Roll is that there is a pouch from the netting at the end of the roll/log to facilitate a sound connection between 2 rolls or logs. The only thing different about the two would be that the BioD-Super Log is a square shape, which provides the Log with better contact at the bottom.
