RoLanka’s BioD-Mat® 90 soil erosion control blanket is engineered from machine-spun bristle coir twines made from freshwater-retted coconut husks, providing superior strength, durability, and reduced acidity. BioD-Mat 90 is a woven bristle coir (coconut fiber) erosion-control blanket with a minimum weight of 980 g/m² (29 oz/SY). Because it is composed exclusively of high-quality bristle coir—rather than mixed or unretted fibers—BioD-Mat 90 provides superior strength, durability, and long-term performance compared to similar coir blankets. This semi-permanent, 100% biodegradable woven coir blanket delivers high initial resistance against erosion while supporting vegetation establishment and long-term site stability. The open weave also enables reseeding and planting before or after installation without cutting the mat. The independently moving coir twines in the blanket allow easy wildlife movement through the mat, thus it is completely safe for wildlife. The 9.8 ft. and 13 ft. wide blankets have one seam in the mat.
With a functional field longevity of 4–6 years, BioD-Mat® 90 blanket offer performance levels beyond the design limits of many other biodegradable erosion control blankets.
