The BioD-Watl / Coir Wattles

BioD-Watl Coir Wattles are natural and biodegradable sediment control devices to filter sediment from runoff water. The wattles are made from cleaned mattress coir fiber. Lightly packed into a high strength bristle coir twine netting. This allows water to pass through while leaving sediment behind. They are the most effective, flexible, and environmentally friendly sediment control device on the market.

These are excellent tools for sediment control in construction sites and landscaping projects. They are used for shoreline protection, inlet protection, channel restoration and they make excellent check dams.

The coir wattles come in three different sizes. The BioD-Watl 6 is 6 in. diameter and 15 ft. The BioD-Watl 9 is 9 in. diameter and 15 ft, and the BioD-Watl 12 is 12 in. diameter and 15 ft.

The different coir wattles

The coir wattles provide sediment retention and reduce sediment pollution. They are used as a filtering medium. EPA field studies have shown that coir fiber not only removes sediment but also phosphorus and heavy metals from run off water.

Filtering the Sediment

These coir wattles are easy to install and maintain, they are also easy to cut and join to any desired length. They work well with heavy equipment and the wattle itself had 90 lbs. of strength. These versatile BioD-Watl Coir wattles provide superior sediment filtering compared to all other sediment control devices.
