Soilless Potting Soil
Coir (coconut fiber) pith (dust) | Complete organic soil-less potting soil
RoLanka’s BioD-Medium, coir pith, is a completely organic potting soil for nurseries, landscaping, and soil bioengineering applications. RoLanka’s coir pith (dust) is the fine particles left over after separating coir fiber from freshwater soaked coconut husks. It is an abundant renewable natural and biodegradable by-product from the coconut fiber industry. After extraction of coir fiber, coir pith is stored in open air before using. Exposure to natural conditions, rain in particular, weathers coir dust and reduces its salinity and conductivity. Aged coir pith has properties suitable for promoting seed germination plant growth.
The lightweight coir pith is the best soilless medium for complete organic gardening, hydroponic gardening, hanging gardening, and container gardening reptile bedding, worm cultures, and for insulation medium for overwintering of plants. Although it has very little nutritive value, the porous coir pith has several important properties. Coir pith has a natural composition of lignin, which is a natural polymer that encourages the growth of beneficial bacteria. A 50% increase in root growth has been observed in many plants when they are grown in coir dust soilless mediums. A higher rose production can be achieved using coir dust soilless medium.
BioD-Medium, soilless potting soil is available in several forms, and they are 11 lbs. blocks and 22 lbs. bales. The 22 lbs. bales are available in less than 10% moisture as well as 40% moisture.
